Most of our patients pay for treatments as they go, but we are more than happy to work with Boots or Tesco or any other plans for your convenience.

History of the Practice
The building is thought to have been built in the late 1400's. Fortunately for us the practice of dentistry has moved on since then!
Recently in 2001 the old osteopathy clinic was bought and converted into a dental surgery.
The Tudor Dental Clinic building has lots of charm and character to match its age. Its exposed stone walls and beams, intricate original wall carvings, and original doorways give a real sense of its age but in keeping with today, the practice rooms themselves are very modern and well equipped.

Dr. Ian Macdermott - B.D.S., BSc (Hons) (GDC No: 62617)
Dr. Ian MacDermott is the principle dentist at Tudor Dental Clinic. He qualified in Bristol university in 1987. Ian has settled in Devon with his wife Sonya and have been working the practice for the last 20 years. Ian has worked in private practices since 1993 and has a great interest in general surgery. Ian has also recently attended courses at a sleep clinic to help with snoring problems which can be associated with health issues.
Dr. Lenore Bronkhorst - DCh D (Pret)
Qualified in Pretoria, South Africa in 1985. Lenore moved to England in 2001 and splits her time between Tudor Clinic and her practice in Plymouth. Lenore has extensive experience in the placement of implants and sedation for nervous patients.
Sonya MacDermott - RDN (GDC No: 154641)
Sonya MacDermott is married to Ian and is a qualified dental nurse who aids the Tudor Dental Clinic Doctors with all types of treatment. Sonya has been running the surgery in Newton Abbot with Ian since 2001.
Rachel Smith - E.D.H (GDC No: 3009)
Rachel has been Tudor Dental Clinics resident hygienist since 2006. She works part time with the surgery and specializes in patients with gum complaints. Rachel qualified in 1985 from Leeds dental hospital and worked at Hull royal infirmary in the oral surgery department. She has worked with various dental practices in Devon. She is married with 3 sports loving boys.
Sue Purves - RDN (GDC No: 155266)
Sue is also a qualified dental nurse who has been aiding Dr. Macdermott with the surgery since 2005. Sue brings many years of experience to Tudor Dental Clinic and is a real asset to the team and is keenly focused on making your dental work relaxing and stress free.
Tia Smallridge - RDN (GDC No: 140322)
Tia Smallridge is also a qualified dental nurse with over 10 years of experience. Tia joined the Tudor Dental Clinic team in April 2012 and was previously working in a busy sedation clinic.
We are all members of various associations including the excellent Devon Independent Practitioners Group.
We regularly attend the latest seminars, training and trade events to ensure our services reflect the latest cutting edge techniques and products.
